Chargers and power banks are among the most copied accessories in Pakistan. A copy might look identical, but it can charge slowly, fail early, or in the worst case overheat. This guide gives current prices for popular power banks and chargers, and simple checks to help you buy the real thing.

10000mAh or 20000mAh?
- 10000mAh is light and fits a pocket. It usually gives one or two full phone charges.
- 20000mAh is heavier but better for travel, long power cuts and days out. Models rated at 45W or more can also charge many laptops that use USB-C charging. Check your laptop's charging needs first.

Many new phones no longer include a charger in the box, so check before you buy a phone, and budget for one if needed.
How to tell an original from a copy
1. Price
The price is the first warning. If a "Samsung 45W" charger costs much less than the ranges above, or an "Apple 20W" adapter is far below about Rs 5,000, treat it as likely to be a copy.
2. Anker's security code
Anker says products bought through its authorised channels are genuine, and it lists those channels on its website. Many Anker products have a 16 or 20 digit security code on the packaging, which you can enter on Anker's verify page. Anker also notes:
- the code is printed only on some products, and is not used in all countries
- a missing code means the product cannot be verified, but does not mean it is fake
- if you are unsure, contact Anker with your receipt, packaging photos and product photos
3. Weight, print and finish
Copies are often lighter, with blurry printing, uneven seams or a loose USB port. Compare with a known original if you can.
4. Charging speed
A real fast charger shows a fast-charging message on supported phones, such as "Super fast charging" on many Samsung phones. If your phone only shows normal charging, the charger or cable may not be what it claims.
5. Where you buy
Buy from the brand's own store, an authorised dealer or a large shop with a return policy. Ask for a warranty and a receipt.
Reading the label
Power banks list two kinds of numbers, and both matter:
- Capacity (mAh): how much energy the power bank stores. Some energy is lost when charging a phone, so a 10000mAh power bank does not give a full 10000mAh to your phone.
- Output (W): how fast it charges. Your phone only charges at the higher speed if it supports the same fast-charging standard.
Also look for the input rating, which tells you how fast the power bank itself recharges. A big power bank with a slow input can take many hours to fill up, which matters during long power cuts when you only have a short window of electricity.
Safety tips
- Do not leave a copy charger or power bank charging overnight.
- Stop using anything that gets very hot, swells, smells or makes noise.
- Keep power banks out of hot cars and direct sun.
- Use a good cable. A cheap cable can limit charging speed even with a good charger.
- Charge on a hard surface, not on a bed or sofa.
